My lord.
I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of Your Lordship's letter No 499 of yesterday's date, with its enclosed original from Captain Geary, regarding the dangerous
state of the Magazine and Gun Powder.
The Chief Magistrate will be requested
to take measures in communication with Captain Geary, for immediately removing the huts and mat buildings referred to by that Officer, and which I have always hitherto supposed belonged to some
Hospital, and had therefore been erected where they are by Your Lordship's permission.
I am surprised to read what Captain
Geary says of the dilapidated state of the Grand
Magazine, which was not yet been finished
